Our Future FocusWe are in our second year of using our Ultrasound machine, purchased by our Principal Sponsor, Komatsu Our partnership with Bokamoso Private hospital has benefited patients enormously in the form of Doctors, Nurses, sponsored consumable equipment, laboratory services and mammogram give-aways. This year we have also been fortunate to be the beneficiaries of the 2019 Diacore Gaborone Marathon. These funds will go towards our National Awareness Campaign which includes Radio, TV and Print messaging about Breast Cancer. The Standard 7 learners at Northside Primary School continue to challenge themselves to fundraise for us every year, reminding us that you are never too young to Touch. Look. Check These developments are in line with our future plans. |

Breast ClinicOn the 23rd Feb 2019 we conducted our first Breast Clinic at Journey of Hope Botswana. Village Imaging brought through their iBreast screening device (which detects changes in breast tissue) and breast ultrasound scans were conducted using the Sonon and JOHB ultrasound machines.
If you are concerned about any unusual changes in your breast, contact us on 72305012 or email us info@joh.org.bw to discuss an appointment at our next Breast Clinic. KOMATSU SPONSORS AN ULTRASOUND MACHINE2018: We are very excited to announce that Komatsu have sponsored us in full for the purchase of our very own Ultrasound machine. This is going to make our Big Journey even more successful as we will be able to rule out Breast cysts and Fibroadenomas in the villages we visit and it will cut down on us having to transport and accommodate many ladies from far afield as well as paying for their tests. The money saved will also free up funds to go towards mammograms, which we still need to outsource. Thank you so much to KOMATSU who have been our principal sponsor for almost 5 years now. Without KOMATSU we would not be the successful organization we have grown to be. Thank you for changing lives! Bosom Buddies programmeBosom Buddies are breast cancer survivors spread through the country who provide emotional support for newly diagnosed individuals. These are NOT a replacement for trained counsellors. Where possible, training will be provided for the Bosom Buddies to become counsellors. Future FocusBreast care centreA permanent facility where health information, breast examinations and referrals will be conducted. Travelling unitA pink vehicle to be fitted with specialised breast examination equipment and awareness material. Trained medical staff to accompany the vehicle to satellite stations throughout the country. |
PartnershipsCorporate-NGO or NGO-NGO partnerships are not based purely on a financial transaction. Partnerships can use differing skills and resources to work towards shared objectives and values.
A successful partnership depends on a shared goal. Aligned objectives that go beyond fundraising can create relationships that are more than simply contractual. They become relationships that dream dreams, make and correct mistakes and grow and learn together. FundraisingJOHB relies entirely on the support and generosity of sponsors and fundraising. Like our volunteers, we can proudly say that key fundraising initiatives have supported us from the start.
